ST. ROCCO DAY’S PROGRAM READY

       Plan 11 will be the Mecca for hundreds of St. Rocco Day celebrators tomorrow when the two-day observance opens for the fifteenth consecutive year here.

       The celebration, sponsored by the Musical Political Italian club of Aliquippa will feature band concert, parades, sports activities, dancing and all the additional festivities traditional with the occasion.

       Although the St. Rocco festival will begin at dawn tomorrow, it will not get underway officially until 4 p.m. when the M. P. I. Band and associated units will traverse hill district streets.

       The parade will move from Jefferson street to First avenue, then to Sixth avenue, thence to Baker street and on to Plan 7. The marchers will return to Fourth avenue over the same route. A concert will be presented at 8 p.m. Fireworks will be touched off at 11 p.m.

       Sunday’s activities will also open with a parade moving from Jefferson street at 7 a.m. It will follow First and Sixth avenues and Baker street to Polish hall. After a brief rest period, the marchers will cover every street in Plan 11.

       A softball game between the Ambridge Merchants and Aliquippa All Stars will be played on the Plan 11 field beginning at 2:30 p.m. A second band concert at 8 p.m., and a play, with dancing in Polish hall will round out the evening.

SAINT ROCCO FETE OPENS HERE TODAY

       Plan 11’s population was to be increased by hundreds today as visitors poured into the hill district from all sections of the valley for the fifteenth annual celebration of St. Rocco day.

       The festivities will get underway officially later this afternoon when a parade composed of the Musical Political Italian club band and associated units will combine for a grand march over Plan 11 streets.

       Band concerts will be heard throughout the evening at an amphitheatre prepared on Fourth avenue. Fireworks are to be set off at 11 p.m. today.
