ITALIANS WILL DO HONOR TO SAN ROCCO TOMORROW, SUNDAY

       An interesting program, beginning at 4:30 o’clock tomorrow afternoon and closing at 11:00 o’clock Sunday night, has been planned by an executive committee of twenty-four Aliquippa Italian leaders as the twelfth consecutive commemoration of their patron Saint, San Rocco. Many of the activities have been planned to be held on Third and Fourth Avenues, Plan 11.

       Aerial bombs, whose detonation will be heard at regular intervals beginning at 4:30 o’clock tomorrow afternoon, will announce the opening of the continuous celebration.

       Following a parade through the streets of Aliquippa, the J & L band will retire to the bandstand erected on Third avenue where it will give an open air concert conducted by it’s talented leader, Walter Iacobucci. Music lovers will thrill to a program of a choice selection of marches, light classics and operatic numbers.

       A grand display of fireworks on the hill overlooking Plan 11 at 11:30 p.m. will end festivities tomorrow night.

       An augmented parade, led by the J & L band, will proceed at 9 o’clock Sunday morning form the Polish hall in Fourth avenue and end at St. Titus church where High Mass will be said. Three young women, carrying the standard of San Rocco, will head the parade. In the line of procession will be hundreds of little boys and girls all dressed in white, various organizations and fraternal orders.

       A program of sports has been arranged for the afternoon between 3:30 and 5:30 o’clock including the most popular races for boys, girls, young men, young women, fat men, tug-o-war for the strong men, pie eating contest, etc. All winners will be given beautiful prizes donated by the merchants of Aliquippa.

       A second band concert by the J & L group will be enjoyed from 7:00 till 11:00 o’clock Sunday night closing the festivities.
