ST. ROCCO’S DAY WILL BE CELEBRATED AUGUST 17-18

       Aliquippa Italians will observe the fifth anniversary of St. Rocco’s Day on Saturday and Sunday, August 17th and 18th, the celebrations being arranged under the auspices of the Italian Political Musical club, of Plan 11.

       The two-day celebration will open with the marching of the J & L Steel Corporation band, Walter Iacobucci, director, from two to four o’clock in the afternoon of Saturday from Plan 11 to Plan 7, while from 6 to 7 p.m., Saturday, the band will give concerts at the Plan 11 bandstand.

       Saturday evening, at 8 o’clock, a dance will be held in the Jefferson street hall, when the Rhythm Kings orchestra will play. A prize waltz will be one of the features of the dance. At 11 p.m., the band will play again at the Plan 11 bandstand which is the hour set for the grand display of fireworks on Saturday night.

       Sunday morning, August 18th, at 7:30 o’clock, the J & L band will march on Plan 11 streets and at 10 a.m. there will be a parade of the members of the Italian Political club and other societies, from Jefferson street to Franklin avenue, downtown, and then to St. Titus church where high mass will be held at 10:30 a.m.

       Sunday afternoon will be featured with concerts by the J & L band and a program of sporting events for which prizes will be awarded. The St. Rocco Day celebration will close Sunday night about midnight. People of the community are invited to attend the celebration.

BY ITALIANS OF ALIQUIPPA TWO DAYS


       Tomorrow and Sunday, Italians of Aliquippa will observe the fifth anniversary of St. Rocco’s Day, the celebration being under the auspices of the Italian Political Musical club, and will open with the marching of the J & L Steel Corporation band, Walter Iacobucci, director, for two to four o’clock tomorrow, from Plan 11 to Plan 7.

       Tomorrow evening, from 6 to 7 o’clock, the band will give concerts at the Plan 11 band stand and at 8 o’clock there will be a dance in Jefferson street hall, which will be featured by prize waltzes. A grand display of fireworks will be at 11 p.m. tomorrow, which the people of the community are invited to witness.

       Sunday’s celebration will be featured by a parade at 10 a.m. followed by high mass at St. Titus church at 10:30 a.m. Sunday afternoon will be given over to a program of sporting events for which prizes will be awarded.

       A program of popular and classical music will be rendered by the Jones & Laughlin Steel Corporation band, Walter Iacobucci, director, tomorrow and Sunday, during the St. Rocco’s Day celebration, the program for tomorrow night from 7 to 11 o’clock being as follows:
