ST. ROCCO’S DAY WILL BE CELEBRATED
AUGUST 18 - 19 BY ITALIAN POLITICAL CLUB
CELEBRATION STARTS WITH BATTERY DISPLAY ON SATURDAY AT NOONDAY
PARADE WILL BE SUNDAY MORNING

Under the auspices of the Italian Political Musical club, the fourth anniversary celebration of Saint Rocco’s
Day will be staged in Aliquippa on Saturday and Sunday, August 18th and 19th, when a two-day program will be
carried out on Plan 11.
The celebration will start at 12 o’clock noon, on Saturday with a battery display. From 2 to 4 p.m., the
Jones and Laughlin Steel Corporation band will march over the Plan 11 streets and from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. the
band will give a concert at the Plan 11 band stand.
In the evening at 8:30 o’clock there will be a dance in the Fourth avenue hall, music for the dancing being
furnished by the ten Pennsylvania Ramblers. At 10:30 p.m. there will be a grand display of fireworks on the
Plan 11 hill by the Pennsylvania Fireworks company.
Sunday, August 19th, the J & L Steel Corporation band will march over Plan 11 streets in the morning and
Carl D’Atri’s concert band form West Aliquippa, will march from Plan 7 to Plan 11 and join the J & L band.
At 9 a.m. the parade will start on Jefferson Street, Plan 11 and will move down Fifth avenue hill to
Franklin avenue to St. Titus church where a special high mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m.
After mass, the parade will move along Franklin Avenue and return to Plan 11 where the remainder of the day
will be given over to entertainment and band concerts.
